How Jumia works out your listing price
Jumia takes a commission on the price the customer pays and deducts a shipping contribution for the category. To receive a set amount, list at:
Listing price = (what you want to receive + shipping contribution) ÷ (1 − commission rate)
Example: Fashion has a 20% commission and a GHS 6.00 shipping contribution on Jumia Express. To receive GHS 950.00, list at (GHS 950.00 + GHS 6.00) ÷ (1 − 0.2) = GHS 1,195.00. Jumia keeps GHS 239.00 in commission and GHS 6.00 for shipping, and you're paid GHS 950.00.
What Jumia deducts
- Commission: a percentage of the listing price, from 5% to 20% depending on the category, VAT included.
- Shipping contribution: a fixed amount per category, different for Jumia Express (JE) and Drop Shipping (DS).
